Shearings holidays are offering a Bulbfields and Battlefields river cruise holiday combined in the one trip. The nine-day holiday covers the stunning Keukenhof Gardens and also includes a visit to the World War Museum as well as the Flanders Fields Museum.
The holiday also combines coach, rail or air travel as well as travel by water on the MPS Rotterdam from Amsterdam. Every cabin has a river view so you can enjoy the passing scenery and sights. Your trip takes you to Keukenhof Gardens on Monday where you can experience the amazing displays of tulips. The following day you cruise to Arnhem where you have the opportunity to visit the World War Museum as well as seeing the Arnhem bridge which, played an important part in Operation Market Garden during the Second World War. On Wednesday you depart Arnhem for Nijmegen – Gorinchem cruising on the River Waal one of the oldest cities in Holland. On Thursday again travelling along the waterways to Gorinchem – Kinderdijk – Dordrecht – Willemstad and sailing past the ancient town of Dordrecht. On Friday you travel from Willemstad to Antwerp via the town of Willemstad. On Saturday you head to Brussels via Ypres and Flanders Field where you can view the many war monuments and cemeteries. On Sunday you disembark in Brussels and travel on to Calais for the ferry across the English Channel to Dover and continue on home.
This Shearings Bulbfields and Battlefields holiday, includes seven nights full board cruise as well as return travel and resort transfers. Upon arrival you will receive a welcome cocktail and enjoy a special captain's dinner one evening. There is an on-board evening entertainments programme and some optional excursions to help you make the most of your holiday. You have the option to join the cruise by coach, by rail on Eurostar or air travel.
Travel is on board the MPS Rotterdam and elegant ship exclusively chartered by Shearings holidays and refurbished in 2009. The ship is rated as a four-star and has four passenger decks and a passenger capacity of 107.
The optional excursions on this holiday include a visit to the National liberation Museum and the Cemetery in Nijmegen. Or you could choose a guided walking tour of Antwerp or even enjoy the waterways and windmills excursion.
